Trust set to make 'Save the Pilgrims' ContributionA letter was received today from the chairman of BUFC, David Newton. This letter places the Trust in the happy position of being able to forward funds to the club. It must be understood that the Trust's rules and constitution do not allow funds to be paid to anyone without a return for the Trust and its members. However that criteria has been met by written assurance from Mr. Newton in his letter that states:- "I urge your members to help settle the residual payments into the CVA, and assure you that any payment would be in effect "on account" to achieve the Trust's aim of both share ownership and a seat on the board." We the Trust board suggest this offer would be the envy of other Trusts throughout the UK and should give us the desire and momentum to move forward with a purpose and enthusiasm. In the letter Mr Newton also states through a lot of hard work, the continued support of Paragon Labels, contributions from parents, the use of coaches on college schemes and some very limited funding from the football authorities the Youth Development and Centre of Excellence programmes are now running on a break even basis. He goes on to say that the priority now is to pay to settle the CVA for unless they are paid we will not have a club. The Trust will know in the next few days what funds we have and will assess how much we need to keep to carry on our work with the residue being paid over to the club on the above terms. As we all know the CVA monies have to be raised and paid and we ask all supporters of the club to join the Trust with one aim in mindto raise those funds. The deal is simple: join the Trust and apart from the administrative costs of it all money will go to the club to ensure its survival and to secure you, the supporters, shares in the club and a seat on the board. |
