Trust hopeful of April share purchase in BUFC, and seeking a secretaryAfter correspondance with David Newton, the Trust is hopeful that it will be able to complete its £3,000 share purchase in BUFC Ltd in the near future. The club have indicated that they intend to hold a Fans' Forum in the coming month, and if this goes ahead will hold the club's AGM on the same night. It is at this AGM that a resolution would be passed allowing the club to sell shares to the Trust. The Trust is fully independent, but it firmly believes that the owners of the club are working extremely hard for the best of the club, and that they always have been. The Trust is delighted to learn that one of the main focal points of the past few months has been the expansion of the club's community schemes. Like all stakeholders in the club, the Trust is disappointed with the on pitch results this season. However, we hope that the people of Boston will turn out in force for the last few home games to support both the club's owners and the team in their imperitive quest for survival. The exchange of emails between Mel Moxon and David Newton can be downloaded here [link]. The Trust is sponsoring the final match of the season, with Boston's opponents at York Street being Cammell Laird. Some Trust members will soon be drawn to benefit from the club's hospitality on that day, and then contacted appropriately. The Trust intends to make this day a turning point in its history, and if all goes to plan there will be an open meeting held before the match, a share purchase at half time and a leaflet dropping to encourage new memberships after the match. The Trust is currently actively seeking a secretary. The main duties of this role are preparing agendas and minutes for meetings. It is like all board positions completely voluntary, but would only involve someone giving up a few hours a month to do a service for United's fanbase. The Trust would be extremely grateful if anyone interested in taking up this position would contact them. |
