1st BUFCST Santa Fun Run

1st BUFCST Santa Fun Run - an outstanding success

The 1st BUFCST Santa Fun Run held on Sunday morning at 11.00 am was a great success. With over 120 Santa's of all shapes, sizes and ages (plus a few Santa dressed dogs) running, jogging and walking around the streets of The Town to the amazement of the watching children and the amusement of the adults.

The BUFCST Board wish to express their thanks to Boston Borough Council, Lincolnshire Police, St John's Ambulance and the wonderful Marshals from the Boston Explorers, as well as the great sponsorship, and hard work, of both Fitness First and the Chris Cook Print Shop. Everyone who took part in the event played their part in making it a day to remember, with indications that over £3,000 in sponsorship would be raised in total by all competitors, and convinced us that the BUFCST Santa Fun Run will become an annual event, and an integral part of Boston's pre Christmas activities.

James Munn crossed the finishing line just ahead of Mitchell Griffiths and Dave Tilley finishing third. The winners of the various categories were James Munn (Male), Lucinda Pitcher (Female) and Karl Mumby (U16). Well done to them all. The presentation of trophies will take place on the pitch at the Staffsmart Stadium, on Boxing Day when Boston United take in local rivals game Gainsborough Trinity. It is hoped that everyone who took part in the 1st BUFCST Santa Fun Run will be present to see the trophies awarded and cheer them, and the team.

A lot of hard work was put into hosting this particular event, and it has shown that the BUFCST is here to stay, and with the support of everyone who cares about our beloved football club we can go from strength to strength in ensuring its survival and progress back to where we should be, in The Football League. This will be achieved through a close relationship with the owners of the club, who incidentally were also Running Santa's, and BUSA who very generously sponsored myself (Mel Moxon) for a very tidy sum.

Come on everybody, the future is bright. Join the BUFCST and have your say in the future of your club.
